Great Occupations

find the work YOU LOVE!

A New Day!

Last night in The Art of Finding a Career You Love! teleseminar, we covered a lot of material. Participants were challenged to “think outside the box” when looking at careers choices.

The Career Match on the DISC Assessment provides a list of potential careers matched to the participant’s personality. The careers listed are from the U.S. Dept. of Labor’s Occupational Outlook Handbook. Are all the potential careers covered in that publication? Of course not. You wouldn’t find such occupations as “tree carver” or “concrete artist” in the list, but we know there are people making lots of money in those positions.

What we do find is there is a correlation between the career satisfaction and personality, but the most important piece of the assessment is the personality results. Finding out that you may enjoy “speaking in front of crowds” and feeding off their energy could open up commonly thought of “stage positions” such as Actor, Speaker, Politician, Comedian, etc. But, you may also consider other possibilities such as Teacher, Project Manager, or Executive Director which also have speaking components to them.

The potential careers should energize you, and for our participants last night I think it did just that! Today they are waking up in a new day with new/renewed possibilities and vigor!

If you would like to take the DISC Assessment for yourself, it is available on our website at http://www.careerfindermethod.info.
