An additional tactic is checking out the website of the local chapter of the relevant professional associations. You’ll find the names of officers, committee chairs, and key volunteers. These are the most active networkers. They may be the most likely to know the hiring manager in your targeted company.
Of course, it’s easier to have them help you connect if you’re an association member. But that’s not essential.
