Twitter + LinkedIn for Job Seekers

LinkedIn For Job Seekers

It’s the grandfather of all networking sites. With over 65 million subscribers, LinkedIn is the easiest and best way to stay connected to colleagues, business acquaintances, and important business contacts. It’s also a great way to search for jobs.

LinkedIn Advanced Job Search LinkedIn has an advanced job search function which allows you to look for postings on LinkedIn. Much like the mega-job boards, you can search by job title, keyword, location, etc. You can also search by industry and date posted. This is much the same as the other boards. What is unique is that when your results come up, you can see who you are connected to within that company. This is extremely powerful when you are following the steps we cover in The Job Search Boot Camp which is get your resume to the person with the power to hire you — not HR. Having a contact in the company can help you by-pass HR.
